Memory Lane Cottage™ is a state-of-the-art assisted living facility for persons with Alzheimer’s and dementia-related disease, in Tampa Palms, Florida.

Memory Lane Cottage™ is designed as a luxury estate home with 20 private bedrooms (suites). Surrounding our community core that is typical in the resident’s prior home, such as kitchen, dining room, living room, activity space and outdoor patios. It also includes a large outdoor walking path that is secured and safe for our residents.

As a Social Worker, I've been to several Assisted Living Facilities to visit hospice patients and it's not often I find one I would feel comfortable placing my own family member. The staff had several activities for the residents and I was impressed that all the residents seemed to participate, as much as they were able. The facility was clean and felt very much like a home. I was impressed also by the compassion, even by the volunteers.

The smell is clean it’s upkeep speaks for itself. I was taken back observing families and staff interacting in activity programs on weekends with residents, It truly warmed my heart . This is a constant, a thriving loving community.

The facility design concept is outstanding and limits patient census to about 20. This gives the place a small homey feeling rather than that of a big overbearing institution. Physical condition and cleanliness are maintained at the highest standard. The staff are meticulous with patient handling and dispensing of medications, and patient medical care is overseen by an experienced physician that comes in once a week. The residents have a well planned set of activities to keep them busy, with seasonal changes and decorations for holidays. Family members are encouraged to participate in activities and are always welcomed as visitors. Perhaps the most important thing is the genuine caring attitude of everybody … they have kept my wife heathy and happy, and have become like a second family to me. Thank you all.

"I am so happy to have found this place. We moved our mother here from an assisted living when her memory got too bad. What a difference and in a good way. The staff is so friendly and spend their day interacting with the residents by engaging them in games and activities for hours. The place is new and kept very clean. I really like that it is a smaller facility. Everybody gets personal attention. My mother is more alert and has adjusted extremely well. She has quit talking about going home. Maybe because she feels more at home in this facility."

Kelly started her journey into senior living as an Activities Director. She worked her way up to Business Office Manager, and eventually in Administration. During her career, she has served as a Compliance Manger, Employee Trainer, and Marketing Director, and has opened three memory care communities. You may even see her carrying a paintbrush around Memory Lane Cottage, as she truly immerses herself in all parts of community management. However, the one position that has remained constant, is acting as a bridge between the resident and the family. Kelly states: “So many people are scared about talking about their loved one’s disease. Family members can be embarrassed to talk about the behaviors associated with Alzheimer’s and the family dynamics unique to their situation. They can be reluctant to ask for help, feeling guilty they can no longer provide the care their loved one needs. Over the years, both of my grandmothers lived in communities I managed, and I feel that gives me a unique perspective of ‘sitting on both sides of the desk’. Each resident has a very unique set of challenges associated with their disease progression. I think the wonderful part of Memory Lane Cottage is that with a smaller population, we can truly create a very unique care plan for each individual, which is nearly impossible to do in a larger setting.” Nowadays, you can catch Kelly with one of her therapy dogs or even her parrot, spreading awareness of Alzheimer’s and related disorders. Her favorite quote is: “Alzheimer's Sucks, but Memory Care Doesn’t Have To”
Taylor started volunteering in activities at a Memory Care Community back in 1997. When she graduated in 1999, with a degree in Aging Studies, she was offered a job in Marketing and then opened one of the first Memory Care Communities in the Tampa Bay area. Taylor went on to work a successful career as a Regional Marketing Manager. Her favorite part of her work was training and supporting marketing teams and the connections she made with the FAMILY Caregivers – holding their hands and helping them make some of the biggest decisions they would make as a Caregiver. Taylor has worked on many projects over the years- such as FACES of Alzheimer’s, Co-Chairing The Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and has held many fundraisers to support Alzheimer’s research. She loves to present on Aging Related Issues so that we can all help Caregiver’s better understand the Aging process. Taylor is dedicated to working with individual Caregivers to find out what is going on in their “Caregiver Journey,” and help connect them, so they know they are not alone. Her favorite quote is “Enjoy the Journey.”
Andrew started his professional career as part of the residential leadership team for a group home agency, supporting people with intellectual disabilities. While he finished his master's degree in healthcare administration, he also had a part time job as an Activities Coordinator in an assisted living community. He quickly learned that assistant living is where he wanted to be. Constantly learning and eager to grow, Andrew decided to become certified as a CNA and as a Medtech- he wanted to see firsthand how great care can produce amazing results. Working his way up and emersed in the care of geriatrics as well as those struggling with Alzheimer's and Dementia, he became certified as a Florida Assisted Living Administrator and achieved the position of Memory Care Director.
 Andrew is dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and building positive relationships with families. He witnessed how vital the care team's relationship and communication is while taking care of his mother during the last three years of her life. He was able to fully appreciate the anger, fear, guilt, and hopelessness that each family goes through during their loved one's battle.   During that time, Andrew learned the humbling and sometimes beautiful experiences of providing direct care to Alzheimer's patients.
Through personal loss, he has gained the strength and courage to face the disease that is rightfully called "the long goodby".     Andrew is dedicated to providing that same care, compassion and knowledge to you and your loved ones.
We are honored that Andrew is able bring seven years of residential leadership, health care administration, Alzheimer's care, and family advocacy experience to Memory Lane Cottage at Oviedo.
